5 Ways You Can Make Your Banner Stand Last Longer

Whether you’re using roller banners or rigid banners, banner stands are a great investment for any business. Although you may have spent good money investing in this kind of advertising, it can all go horribly wrong when the banner stands aren’t looked after properly. We’re going to run through some top care tips to help your banner stand last longer.

Never fold, always roll

You should never fold the graphics of your banner stand as this will crease the design and ruin it. Instead, roll the banner with the graphic facing outwards. This will help to maintain its tautness and will also prevent air bubbles from forming.
Once rolled up, don’t use elastic bands to help it keep shape as this too can cause creases and ruin the graphics.

Don’t add to it

Although you may have a whole archive of leaflets, price lists, flyers and posters, you should never attach them to the banner in any way. If your sign has been well-made, then additional advertising material shouldn’t be necessary and will only confuse the message it is trying to convey.
Attaching additional marketing material to the banner can cause the graphics to become damaged. If you want to pin up and display additional marketing material, then consider investing in a freestanding noticeboard to accompany the banner stand.

Clean with caution

As you can probably guess, you shouldn’t clean the graphics with any form of chemicals. Using chemicals can strip away the imagery and damage the quality of the work.
If you need to clean the banner, then do so carefully with a damp cloth to prevent any damage. This should be done as a light brush over and you definitely shouldn’t use any scrubbers or sponges.

Store correctly

Not all banner stands are going to be suited to outdoor use and so be sure to make a note of whether yours can be used outside. If it isn’t suitable for outdoor use, you’re at risk from it being blown over and damaged by weather conditions.
When it comes to storing the banner stand, irrelevant of whether it’s suitable for outdoor use or not, make sure it is dry before you put it away. Once dry, store it in a suitable place. We recommend using the carry bag the banner comes in to prevent it from becoming damaged between uses.

Follow assembly instructions carefully

For the maximum lifespan for a banner stand, it’s important that you follow the assembly instructions carefully. If you put the banner together wrong, or damage it during assembly, then the condition of the banner is likely to deteriorate from there.
This means that should there be several individuals all likely to be in contact with the banner at different events that it’s important they all know and understand how to put the banner together correctly to avoid damaging it.
To make the most of your banner, follow our care tips above. When looked after correctly, banner stands are a great investment, particularly for events as they can entice visitors and help convert them into paying customers.
